Meeting 5 - Lissangle Caheragh Harness Racing Report - Sunday 27th June 2021.

Barus D'Occagnes making his debut on Irish soil since being imported from France looks a real type when landing the Featured Grade C & B Trot at Lissangle on Sunday writes Tim Kelleher.

Only three went to post but it proved a real cracking affair. Eddy Marceaux set the early fractions leading for the first 7 furlongs on the final lap OIsin Quill eased the winner to the front and despite a late challenge from Bibi Dairpet the ten-year-old was not for catching.

"Today was the first day I drove him and he looks a real decent type" Quill told the press briefing.

Share A Smile made light of his outsider tag in the Grade F pace giving winning owner /trainer and driver Timmy Moloney his initial success of the 2021 campaign.
Rhyds Panache making a belated seasonal debut led for the opening lap with Hail Spartacus and On Top Big C in close attention. On the second lap Share A Smile hit the front and led at the bell lap. The field began to close in on the leader but he found second wind and ran out a three-length winner from Rhyds Panache who will improve from the run.

Sean Kane who works in Dublin Airport has been making "flying visits" to West Cork and bagged two more winners on the day.

Highland Princess defeated arch nemesis Hidden Love in the four-year-old trot having five lengths to spare this time. The winner is jointly owned by the Kanes and Jeremiah O' Mahony who trains the chestnut.

The second winner for Kane came in the Grade E & D Trot aboard his own horse Carat Bay who led from the start and saw off last week's winner Banderillo Piya by three lengths.

The Grade E to A Pace went the way of Brywins Starship who Richard Kingston set alight from the start and was never remotely in danger eased down at the finish and the two and a half lengths winning margin flattered the opposition.
Dunmanway based builder Micheal Healy owns this talented eight-year-old son of Share The Delight and more wins can be expected after this performance.

Pan Cam Income a "catch drive" for Willie McInerney upset hotpot IB Paddington in the Grade F Pace. Frankie Camden led for the opening circuit but the winner was sent to the front on the back straight and held on from the favourite by a length at the finish.

Brutenor has been a great servant to the Hill Family from Leap and the ten-year-old produced the goods again today in the Grade F Tot. Winning driver Patrick Hill had to overcome "Heavy Traffic" coming from last to first in a patient drive and ran away to win by nine lengths.

Tommys Girl also faced congestion in the Grade G & G1 but Luke Kelleher was at his brilliant best weaving his way through some narrow gaps to land the odds for punters and for winning owner Alan O' Neill from Charleville.
